So I’ve been back in Australia two days and I decided I had to get back in touch with my inner Australian and what better way to do that then eating the animals and gaining their courage.
I think Australia has to be one of the few, maybe one of the only countries in the world where we eat the animals on our coat of arms.
So I went to the local supermarket and as I was filling my shopping cart full of shapes biscuits, dairy milk chocolate and other food stuffs that I had missed since living in Canada overseas. I spotted Kangaroo Sausages, or as they are called in Australia “Kanga Bangas”. Unfortunately I couldnt find any Emu but I did however manage to find an even better substitute, Crocodile tail.
With the Sausages and crocodile in hand we fired up the BBQ and cooked up a feast!
So what did it taste like?,You probably guessed it
Crocodile tastes like chicken!
well not like normal chicken its like a tougher older chicken, It tasted pretty good especially with a bit of BBQ sauce. The kangaroo tasted like some kind of beef rissole, Especially good between a slice of bread and some tomato sauce.
Overall it was a great feed and i’d definitely buy it again. I cant believe it took me 26 years to finally have some
So there we have it, I always like to say if you eat an animal you gain its courage. So hopefully now with the ferocity of the croc and the agility of the kangaroo i’ll be more prepared to take on whatever life throws at me going forward on my adventure
What is the weirdest or most exotic thing you have ever eaten?
