So my awesome new business cards from Moo arrived today. I first have to start by saying that these business cards are probably the most self indulgent expense for my backpacking trip. Do I need business cards? probably not, but dam are they sexy. here are the reasons I’ve used to justify to myself that having business cards is a good idea.

  1. Make’s it easier to give my contact info to new friends I meet at hostels.
  2. Good for networking with people in travel industry
  3. Help’s promote my blog (see its a business expense)
  4. Makes me feel important and like I have a purpose, instead of the reality which is that i’m escaping everything to bum around Latin America for 6 months. haha

Plus I’ve always wanted to have business cards, just because they are awesome!

My snazzy new business cards, Yay!

But enough about with my self justifications, I’ll tell you all about these awesome +1 business cards.

I opted to go with the classic stock rounded corner business cards and I have to say that Moo did not disappoint, the card stock is thick and feels nice to touch(That’s what she said). The other great thing about Moo is they give you the option to either choose a pre-existing theme and modify it to suit your needs, or do what I did and create everything from scratch. You also can choose up to 50 different images to have on the back of your business cards, So it feels like you are carrying around a little photo folio with you.

The only thing that I regret is not having a great deal of awesome photos to choose from, I keep thinking of all of the awesome photo opportunities I’m going to have over the next 6 months in Latin America and I’m sure I will have  100x better photos within a couple of months. but alas these had to be ordered now. I will just have to make sure I give out all 200 so I can buy more 😀

Apparently I’m now a writer and a photographer, How did that happen?

Yeah that’s right apparently I’m now a travel writer & photographer,It says so on my business card so it has to be true right?, While I don’t profess to be exceptionally good at either of these things I figured it was a business card I could grow into, haha. Plus as a friend of mine always says:

Fake it till you make it!

So there you have it my own business cards, I’m so excited to have my own collection of business cards and all of the different images on the back just make it feel like I have a big set of trading cards. I can’t wait to start handing them out and leaving them in random places.

So if your interested in ordering you very own awesome business cards I would highly recommend checking out Moo, their quality is superb and they wont break the bank. Also If you use one of the links in this post you will get 10% off of your order and help me towards paying for my next order so its win win.

They look great, good for you! I’ve used Moo before and they’re fantastic. I was actually thinking of doing just the same thing before I leave to live in Europe… I’ve never had a business card before but it will make me more legit, haha.

Thanks Ashley, They are totally worth it. Even if its just to make myself feel awesome and pro. Plus I get to go “ohhh let me give you my card” then pull it out of my sleeve like some kind of magician, haha.

I guess they also have the benefit of promoting my blog as well haha

This moo you speak of is intriguing lol. I just like saying it.
Maybe I’ll have to get some before I head out again… who would’ve thought business cards would be making such a comeback?

Haha Moo is fun to say. you should totally get some business cards. Then you too can feel like an important superstar every time you hand one out haha.

I like the design, it’s very nice and catchy. I also agree with the reasons of possessing business cards. I used to do it as well, then I ran out of them but didn’t order new ones. I’ll definitely print some out for my next journey in South America. You will see how helpful and convenient the cards will be (I wouldn’t call them business cards, travel cards sound better by the way) and it’s amazing how many people will actually get back to you and contact you via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.

Where are you heading to first?

    Love,

Hey Agness ,I agree for the purpose im using for they are more travel cards.

I am starting in cancun in mexico then working my way down through central america and into south america
Its all really rough seeing as I don’t have a time limit just all depends on how long I can go before running out of money haha. Also If I meet cool people on the way my path may change, just going with the flow.

Hopefully I’ll get around to doing a post about a more detailed plan this week 🙂

Nice cards Brendon. I used Moo for mine too – they’re a great company and I am really happy with them. Maybe we’ll cross paths one day and get to do a swap!

Hey Brendon, congrats on your business cards. I love the feel of the stock they use for Moo cards. Don’t feel one bit guilty about buying them. They are an essential part of the travel blogger’s toolkit and a great way to help the people you meet on the road keep in touch with you.
