Ever since I started always said to myself that the most important thing was to go with the flow, try new things, experience new cultures, visit new places and meet new interesting people.

This trip has never been about the destinations I am visiting because that really doesn’t matter to me.

Which brings me to the point of this blog post. Over the last couple of weeks I have heard about an event called The Rainbow Gathering which is held near Cobain in Guatemala. Its a temporary community held in the jungle epousing and practicing ideals of peace, love, harmony, freedom and community.

So how did I come about going to this event?

Yesterday I left Caye Caulker in Belize undecided on where I wanted to go. I was either traveling to Flores Guatemala or San Ignacio Belize. I put on my backpack and headed to the bus station and it just so happened that the bus to both of these places was the same. So I boarded the local chicken bus still undecided.

This is where I met Clara from France who was heading to Flores to meet up with the rainbow gathering. Being a 12 time veteran of the rainbow gathering she told me all about what the gathering was all about and asked If I wanted to go.

So I figured why not :D.

So I’m currently in Flores Guatemala and will be buying some supplies such as a tent, sleeping bag and foam mattress and will be heading into the middle of nowhere, where there is no electricity or wifi for the next 1-2 weeks.

So as a result  I will not be posting any blog updates until I return.I’m really looking forward to this disconnect and should be a really eye opening experience. There is no electricity,Wifi or anything like that. So as a result I will be completely disconnected for 1-2 weeks.

See you all on the other side!
